The relationship sarcopenia, obesity with Lung function in the elderly group in Tabanan City, Bali

Background: The aging process is characterized by a gradual decline in physical aspect. Changes body composition are an important sign of the process. Lung disease and respiratory disorders one main health problems elderly. Various studies have examined relationship between decreased muscle mass, obesity, lung function. However, results these still unclear. Aims this study to determine sarcopenia, function elderly group Tabanan City, Bali. Methods: This analytical with cross-sectional design conducted at Bali, February 2017. data was taken using consecutive sampling technique method; 187 samples were collected from primary according inclusion exclusion criteria—the analysis univariate, bivariate multivariate analysis. Results: Prevalence Sarcopenia obesity Regency, Bali 18.2% 46%, respectively. Meanwhile, those who experienced sarcopenic 3.2%. Peak expiratory rates significantly lower sarcopenia than without (p=0.026). rate higher obese non-obese p=0.001). Conclusion: different or obese.
